Growing up in a multilingual family

The European Day of Languages is the inspiration for The Foundation Polish Culture NL in cooperation with OBA Oosterdok to organise an event to encourage the use of parental native languages and to discuss multilingual upbringing and education.

The event will be at OBA Oosterdok, 26 September 2021, 15.00 – 17.30

  • Parents in multilingual families are sometimes insecure about important questions: How can I help my child learn Dutch? How many languages can children learn simultaneously? What is the relationship between multilingualism and language delay? meertalig.nl

  • Ute is co-author of the book “The Toolbox for Multilingual Families” and “How to raise a bilingual child”. She will talk about supporting the language development of children who speak more than one language. Children don’t become multilingual by “magic”.
